Head and Neck Cancer Australia's FREE Webinars are designed to educate, inform and support people living with Head and Neck Cancer and their families and friends, but everyone is welcome to join whether you're a patient, carer, friend or healthcare professional.

Date: Monday, 12 December 2022
Time: 12.00pm - 1.15pm (AEDT)
Topic: Eating socially after Head and Neck Cancer treatment

With the festive season upon us, people who have been treated for Head and Neck Cancer may feel anxious or subconscious about eating in a social environment.

Our guest speakers will discuss the experience and barriers of eating faced by people living with Head and Neck Cancer, and offer advice on social eating following treatment, as well as nutritional information and ideas.

GUEST SPEAKERS

Joanne Hiatt
Dietitian at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital

Joanne Hiatt is a Dietitian working in Head and Neck Oncology at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and now at Ipswich Hospital.

Joanne is in the final stages of completing her PhD through the University of Queensland where she has conducted a qualitative research study exploring patient and carer experience of nutrition care throughout Head and Neck Cancer treatment to identify areas for service improvement.

She is a contributor to the publication “From Treatment to Table” for Student Dietitians at Griffith University of Queensland (Nutrition &; Dietetics); a participant in “Soup for the Soul online cooking workshop” for Head and Neck Cancer Australia; and the “Swallowing and Quality of Life study” with the University of Technology Sydney.
