GUEST SPEAKERS

Dr Matthew Wallen, Flinders University
Matt is a Senior Research Fellow in Cancer Survivorship, the Deputy Lead of the Cancer Survivorship Program, and a Senior Lecturer in Exercise Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology at Flinders University. His main research area involves investigating the effects of exercise and lifestyle interventions in people living with and beyond cancer. He is particularly interested in how lifestyle interventions can be utilised and implemented prior to treatment.

Paul Mowbray, former patient from Wagga Wagga NSW

Paul was a 58 year old high school teacher when he was diagnosed with a HPV related Head and Neck Cancer in 2017. Paul finished treatment in 2018 and is now enjoying his retirement spending as much time as he can out on the water fishing. Paul is looking forward to sharing his approach to exercising before, during and after treatment to help others and we're so pleased he's agreed to stay on dry land for the day to join us.

Anna Bofinger, former patient from Sunshine Coast QLD

Anna was a fit and healthy 53 year old when she was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2020. She underwent surgery and six weeks of radiotherapy. Anna's personal experience both as a patient and a physiotherapist have given her an intimate knowledge of the challenges that Head and Neck cancer patients face and she is passionate about improving the pathways for others especially with regard to rehabilitation to give people a better quality of life during treatment, recovery and beyond.
