It's coming up to World Head and Neck Cancer Day in July. Last year I completed the inaugural 5 Peak Challenge to recognise this day and to support the vital work of Head and Neck Cancer Australia.

On 27th July this year I will be repeating my 5 Peak Challenge - same *5 mountains but with your help I am hoping to make a bigger impact. It is a cause close to my heart. In 2020 I was shocked to be diagnosed with tongue cancer. I underwent surgery followed by 6 weeks of radiotherapy. My personal experience has given me an intimate knowledge of the challenges that Head and Neck cancer patients face, and I am passionate about improving the pathways for future patients.

Many Australians know very little about the complex cancers that make up Head and Neck Cancer. There is currently no screening test or nationwide awareness program. Healthy younger patients without the traditional risk factors are being diagnosed. Raising awareness in the community and improving training for health professionals means a greater chance for early detection. With early detection treatment is more effective and there are better patient outcomes.

Thank you for supporting my challenge and the fantastic work that Head and Neck Cancer Australia do.

Be part of beating our efforts in 2023:
6 people climbed all 5 peaks
16 people climbed 1 or more peaks
59 people supported the challenge
$7280 was raised
