World head and neck cancer day
27 July2021
World Head and Neck Cancer Day is held on 27 July each year. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness about head and neck cancer in the general public and acknowledge the impact it has on people affected in our community.
Head and neck cancer is incredibly complex and diverse. It can be a brutal cancer affecting a person’s identity unlike any other cancer.
In Australia there has been a 34% increase in head and neck cancer in the last 10 years, over 5,000 people are diagnosed each year and more than 17,000 people are living with the side effects of treatment.
There is NO screening for head and neck cancer. Early detection and education is key.
